Be Mighty’s tagline, “Eat. Play. Learn.” is a call to action for parents, students, teachers, and the greater Little Rock community. Play is one of the main ingredients needed for Little Rock to Be Mighty. Little Rock prospers when we have an active and healthy youth population. Last week we shared information about where to eat when schools close for winter break. This week we are challenging youth to stay active throughout the holidays. Let’s move Little Rock.
Exercise doesn’t have to be a chore, it can be fun! Take part in your favorite activity. Learn a new hobby or share one of your talents with a friend or younger sibling. We are calling youth and their families to participate, be involved, compete, and Be Mighty.
Here are a few ideas for how to get moving in Little Rock.
- Play a game
- Take a brisk walk or hike
- Play a sport (basketball, volleyball, soccer, etc.)
- Visit a park
- Go for an indoor swim
- Go for a jog or run
- Do yard work
- Complete a home workout
- Dance
- Do active housework like vacuuming or sweeping
- Go mall walking, bowling, or roller skating.
- Practice yoga or other fun group classes
