Rides-to-Reads Bus Passes
The Rides to Reads program is for active CALS library program participants. It is our goal to work with Rock Region METRO, the City of Little Rock, and other agencies to make sure as many people as possible have access to transportation, without duplicating services. Please read the eligibility criteria listed below, to ensure you are not eligible for passes through another program available in the city.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Rides to Reads program participants must not be eligible for another program available in the city and be active library program participants.
Library programs include but are not limited to; Be Mighty meal distributions, digital literacy workshops, the Job Seekers or Community Resource program, and the Literacy Action Center. See more CALS programs on the CALS website or on a printed program guide available every month.

How to Apply
Beginning January 31, 2022, you can visit one of our five participating library branches (listed below) and ask for a paper application. Once your application has been approved, we will give you a bus pass and make a Rides to Reads photo ID. All members of your household registering for the program must be present for us to process the application and provide photo IDs. Children age 5 and up will also need a photo ID made in order to participate.

What if I already have my Rides to Reads photo ID but I need my next month’s paper pass?
Visit a participating branch for your next month’s pass.
What happens if I lose my Rides to Reads photo ID?
Visit a participating branch for a replacement ID. We may have to charge you a replacement fee, so please keep track of your ID.
What happens if the fare reader damages my Rock Region METRO pass?
We have new plastic passes that are easier to use and should not be damaged in the fare reader. If this does happen, visit a participating branch for a replacement pass. ONLY one replacement paper pass will be issued.
