Starting an Anti-Hunger Campaign

Be Mighty Little Rock is a city-wide anti-hunger campaign. Our goal is to connect kids and teens to free afterschool, weekend, and summer meals. The campaign, which can be replicated in cities of any size, is supported by Mayor Frank Scott, Jr. and the Little Rock City Board of Directors. With one in four Arkansas children facing food insecurity, the Little Rock City Board passed two resolutions in 2018 to support the campaign and improve access to healthy food for their children and youth.
Be Mighty hosted a convening in October for other communities around Arkansas to learn about starting anti-hunger campaigns in their communities. Be Mighty is teaming up with the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance to provide technical assistance to cities across the state as they expand federal meal programs in their communities. Be Mighty is also providing city and county branded marketing tools. To learn more about how to start a city-wide anti-hunger campaign please download the Cities Combating Hunger Action Guide.
Communities interested in starting anti-hunger campaigns are invited to participate in a webinar at 2:00 p.m. on October 24th. During this webinar, we will focus on the next steps for starting an anti-hunger campaign in your community. Additional webinars will take place on November 14th and December 12th at 2:00 p.m.
